Overview

Susan Bloom is a wills, trusts and estates attorney whose practice includes both personal representation of individuals with respect to estate planning, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and representation of beneficiaries, executors and trustees in contested and uncontested Surrogate’s Court proceedings concerning the probate and construction of wills, administration of estates and trusts and recovery of estate assets.  In addition, Ms. Bloom represents not-for-profit institutions as beneficiaries and bank and trust companies in their capacities as executors and trustees.  Ms. Bloom has been associated with Patterson Belknap since 1992 and has been a partner of the firm since 1995.  Ms. Bloom has concentrated her practice in estate planning and related estate and trust litigation for almost 30 years.  Her clients include individuals and families, banks and trust companies and not-for-profit organizations.  Before joining Patterson Belknap, Ms. Bloom served for six years as assistant to Hon. Renee R. Roth, Surrogate of New York County. 

Ms. Bloom has lectured on estate planning, estate and gift tax and estate administration and associated litigation issues at the New York County Lawyers’ Association, the Practising Law Institute, Fordham University School of Law and New York Law School.
