Overview
Mr. Yatrakis is an associate in the firm's litigation department, where he has vast experience in civil litigation matters, involving commercial contract disputes, real estate, probate, legal malpractice, trademark and patent infringement, counterfeiting, unfair competition, unfair trade practices, bankruptcy litigation in both federal and state courts throughout the country. Mr. Yatrakis has handled a wide variety of litigation and controversy matters, at all stages, including pre-litigation counseling, discovery, dispositive motion practice, mediation, trial and appeal.
Mr. Yatrakis has worked extensively in the areas of intellectual property, including numerous disputes in federal court under the Lanham Act. Mr. Yatrakis has litigated counterfeiting cases on behalf of major corporations in diverse industries worldwide. In the anti-counterfeiting area, he has successfully executed seizure orders globally against individuals and businesses that have manufactured and distributed counterfeits. This has resulted in the seizure and destruction of tens of thousands of counterfeits.
From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Yatrakis served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Nicholas Tsoucalas on the United States Court of International Trade.

Anti-Counterfeiting
Represents several large medical device company in several anti-counterfeiting matters brought in Federal Court under the Lanham Act which has resulted in over fifty preliminary and permanent injunctions.
Coordinates world-wide litigation strategy with local counsel located around the globe in connection with Trademark Infringement actions brought on over a dozen jurisdictions.
Commercial Litigation
Part of a litigation team that tried and defended against a permanent injunction sought against leading pharmaceutical company that would have required it to cease sale of its foremost product.
Represented law firm in legal malpractice action in New York State court brought by former client seeking over $100 million in damages, resulting in dismissal with prejudice for law firm.
Represented medical device company in contract dispute concerning tax obligations arising from an asset purchase agreement.
Represented prominent art gallery owner in defending against a preliminary injunction that would have prohibited it from selling exhibited works.
Represented beneficiary in Surrogate Court in action contesting operation of a will.
Bankruptcy Litigation
Represented Ad Hoc committee of Holders of Senior Subordinated Notes and Senior Discount Notes in connection with Chapter 11 proceeding of large cable television operator.
Represented creditors in connection adversary proceeding commenced as part of the Enron bankruptcy.
