Herman Yue is an associate in the firm's litigation department. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation.
Mr. Yue holds a doctorate in Immunology from the University of California, Berkeley Molecular and Cell Biology program where he was a National Science Foundation predoctoral fellow. His graduate work examined the role of the mammalian TRAIL receptor in the regulation of immune responses to pathogens and led to the analysis and publication of the first genetic knockout of the mouse TRAIL receptor. As a result of his research experience, he is familiar with wide variety of immunology, molecular biology, and cellular biology techniques, including recombinant DNA technologies such as DNA sequencing, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and "gene chips"; creation and characterization of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies; transgenic and gene knockout technology; and infectious disease experiments.
From 2009 to 2010, Mr. Yue served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Robert W. Sweet, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
