Biography

Ashley Ochs is an associate in the firm's Litigation department, where her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property issues, and white collar defense and internal investigations. Ms. Ochs has represented clients in the pharmaceutical, insurance, consumer goods, and financial industries in both state and federal courts. Ms. Ochs has also counseled clients and litigated matters involving fraud, contract disputes, employment discrimination, internal investigations, FCPA issues, products liability, and patent infringement.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ochs served as a law clerk to Judge Joel A. Pisano in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and to Judge Michael A. Chagares in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Ms. Ochs supports the firm’s pro bono practice and manages the firm’s award-winning State Central Register project. Ms. Ochs has been recognized for her work on this project by the New York County Lawyer’s Association, winning the 2015 award for outstanding pro bono work and dedication. She also has successfully represented pro bono clients in immigration proceedings, administrative hearings, housing court and civil right actions.

Ms. Ochs has served since 2014 as the Co-Secretary for the Pro Bono Committee of the New York County Lawyer’s Association.

Representative Matters

Represented financial guarantors in actions against sponsors and originators of mortgage-backed securities.

Represented major manufacturers of medical devices in anti-counterfeiting actions nationwide, including the successful seizure of counterfeit products from dozens of individuals and businesses that have manufactured and distributed counterfeits.

Represented pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers against products liability claims.

Defended employers against gender, age, and national origin discrimination claims under state and federal law.

Conducted internal investigation of alleged FCPA violations by a multi-national corporation.

Conducted internal investigation into whistleblower claims related to violations of Sarbanes-Oxley and employment laws.

Represented employee of financial company under investigation by U.S. regulatory agencies for interest rate manipulation practices.

Pro Bono
Represented prisoner as co-lead trial counsel in a civil rights action against correctional officers for First Amendment retaliation case.

Successfully won grant of permanent residency following a Special Immigrant Juveniles Status hearing in family court.

Represented a client in a Fair Hearing to challenge inclusion in New York State’s Central Register for child abuse and neglect.
