Gregory L. Diskant to Present at PLI’s “Patent Litigation 2021: Advanced Techniques & Best Practices”
On October 27, Gregory L. Diskant will participate in PLI’s “Patent Litigation 2021: Advanced Techniques & Best Practices”. Mr. Diskant and the Hon. William C. Bryson will present on “Appeals in Patent Cases” as part of PLI's full day event: “Appeals in patent cases are of critical importance because of the relatively high reversal rate in the Federal Circuit, especially with respect to claim construction rulings. This session will cover many aspects of appeals in patent cases, beginning with positioning the case for appeal at the district court level. The issue of dealing with an adverse claim construction ruling in the district court, an issue unique to patent cases, will be extensively discussed. The session will also cover the motions that should be made in the trial court to preserve issues for appeal, including motions for judgment as a matter of law and for a new trial. This session will also cover effective appeal strategies, briefing and argument.”
