Harry Sandick to Present Webinar at Art Basel on “Anti-Money Laundering and the Art Market”
On Thursday, February 25, Harry Sandick will be speaking on a webinar panel at Art Basel titled, "Conversations: Anti-Money Laundering and the Art Market".
The presentation addresses how art businesses on both sides of the Atlantic are adapting to changes in anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. At the beginning of 2020, the UK implemented the European Union's new AML directive, while in October the US Department of Treasury issued an advisory that identified the art market as a focus of its enforcement efforts.
This panel brings together legal experts and leading gallerists to discuss what these developments mean for the market. How will regulatory developments in US impact the global art trade? What can be learnt from how Europe has adapted? And how are art market professionals responding to this changing terrain?
