Steve Zalesin and Jane Metcalf to Present at Consumer Brands Association’s CPG Legal Forum

Partners Steve Zalesin and Jane Metcalf will be hosting a roundtable discussion at the Consumer Brands Association's CPG Legal Forum, being held from February 22-24, 2023. The Forum is curated by experts in the CPG industry and covers household, personal care, food and beverage, dietary supplements, pet food and OTC products.
The roundtable, entitled "False Adverting and Lanham Act Litigation Round Up," will be held on February 24th from 7:30am - 9:00am. Steve and Jane will provide a from-the-trenches look at the hottest trends in false advertising litigation, including both competitor suits under the Lanham Act and consumer fraud claims under state law. Participants will explore the latest theories of liability and discuss preventive measures that businesses can take to avoid litigation in the first place.
Steve Zalesin will also be speaking on a panel, entitled "A Sustainable Path for CPG Green Claims," on February 23rd from 3:15pm - 3:35pm. This session will discuss how to approach sustainability claims, potential updates to the Federal Trade Commission Green Guides, lessons learned from other industries such as textiles and fashion, vetting potential environmental impact and sorting out climate science, public nuisance allegations, preventative measures, best steps with carbon footprints, the SEC climate change disclosure proposed rule and how to leverage the legal department to shoulder reputational challenges.
