Patterson Belknap Announces New Counsel and Special Counsel
Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP is pleased to announce that intellectual property attorney Stephanie Bunting Glaser has become Counsel to the Firm, and employee benefits and executive compensation attorney Jessica S. Carter has become Special Counsel.
Ms. Glaser has been in private practice at her own firm since 2012, and started her career at Patterson Belknap. As an experienced transactional intellectual property lawyer, Ms. Glaser negotiates a broad range of copyright licenses and related commercial agreements including publishing agreements, consulting agreements, software agreements, data license agreements, music and photography licenses, talent agency agreements, collaboration agreements and confidentiality agreements. She also advises on breach of contract, copyright and trademark infringement, and privacy issues. Ms. Glaser’s clients have included an international talent agency and production company, authors, a large not-for-profit consumer publishing company, a fashion internet company, information and technology companies, and various not-for-profit organizations. She received her J.D., cum laude, in 1995 from Harvard Law School and her B.A., summa cum laude, in 1990 from Hamilton College. She previously served as a law clerk to the Hon. Stewart G. Pollock of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Ms. Carter has practiced in the Firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice since 1998, representing companies in all aspects of employee benefits and related employment matters. Ms. Carter advises employers with respect to a wide variety of pension and welfare plan issues and has extensive experience in qualified plan design, compliance and correction. She also counsels employers in the areas of executive compensation, human resources planning, information privacy and fiduciary responsibility and liability. In addition, Ms. Carter advises clients regarding plan service provider and investment transitions, as well as plan terminations and mergers. Clients she works with include large and mid-size not-for-profit organizations, pension plan benefits boards, universities and international corporations. Ms. Carter received her J.D. in 1996 from Columbia Law School, where she served as an Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. She received her B.A. in 1992 from the University of Pennsylvania.
