Biography

Jeffrey Skinner is an Associate in the Firm's Litigation department. From 2017 to 2018, Mr. Skinner served as a law clerk to the Hon. Cathy Seibel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. From 2016 to 2017, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. 

Representative Matters

Representing a financial guaranty insurer bringing fraud and breach of contract claims against a sponsor and originator of mortgage-backed securities.

Defending a manufacturer of cosmetic and hair care products against class action claims of false advertising.

Defending a European bank in connection with a putative class action alleging violations of the Sherman Act based on alleged collusion and manipulation of a benchmark rate.

Representing a financial guaranty insurer bringing breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims against a trustee of securitizations.

Pro Bono

Successfully represented a client in a coram nobis petition challenging the validity of her criminal conviction.

Representing victims of torture in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq in litigation brought under the Alien Tort Statute against government contractor.

Represented a client in an appeal before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
