Michael Schwartz is an Associate in the Firm's Litigation department. From 2015 to 2016, Mr. Schwartz served as a law clerk to the Hon. Paul A. Crotty of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Prior to his clerkship, Mr. Schwartz practiced at a large New York law firm.

Representative Matters

Representing a medical device company in a multidistrict putative class action antitrust litigation regarding allegedly anticompetitive pricing policies.

Successfully represented a leading cosmetics company against claims of false and misleading advertising.  The plaintiffs agreed to voluntarily dismiss their claims after briefing and oral argument on our client’s summary judgment motion.

Successfully represented a medical device company in a false advertising dispute.  The Court granted summary judgment in our clients’ favor and dismissed the case.

Represented a major healthcare company in connection with internal investigation relating to potential compliance issues.

Represented art museums in connection with grand jury document subpoenas.

Advised a leading chocolate and confections company on risk associated with possible acquisitions.

Represented telecommunications company in breach-of-contract dispute relating to intellectual property licenses.

Advised major media entities regarding potential trademark and copyright claims.

Represented preliminary executors to multi-million-dollar estate in defending against potential will challenge.

Pro Bono

Successfully represented non-profit organizations in First Amendment challenge to New York donor disclosure statutes. The Court granted summary judgment in our clients’ favor and held the challenged statutes facially unconstitutional.

Successfully represented individual on appeal of criminal conviction before the Second Circuit.  The Court vacated our client’s conviction due to prejudicial remarks by the trial court.

Represented group of law professors as amici curiae in several “sanctuary city” litigations.
