Firm Attorneys Honored by New York Legal Services Organizations

On Monday, October 22, 2018, Partner Michael S. Arlein was honored at the City Bar Justice Center’s Celebration of Service reception at the New York City Bar Association. Mr. Arlein received the Jeremy G. Epstein Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service, for his work with clients of the Planning and Estates Law Project (PELP). PELP offers free legal assistance with end-of-life planning, probate, and estate matters to low-income individuals in New York City.

On Tuesday October 16, 2018, Patterson Belknap was honored to be one of the recipients of The Legal Aid Society’s 2018 Pro Bono Publico Awards for outstanding service to The Legal Aid Society and its clients. In addition to recognizing the Firm, The Legal Aid Society honored many individual attorneys and staff with Pro Bono Publico awards for providing exceptional legal services to low-income New Yorkers. Firm honorees included: Michelle M. Bufano, Daneen Carter, Lisa E. Cleary, Laura Kaufman, Maren J. Messing, Nathan Monroe-Yavneh, Rachel B. Sherman, and Sam A. Yospe. The Honorable Rolando T. Acosta, the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division First Department, presented the awards.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) recognized Patterson Belknap attorneys Elizabeth Riordan Hurley, A. Robert Quirk, and Julie A. Simeone, and E-Discovery Counsel James Zucker for their substantial pro bono contributions to NYCLA's State Central Registry, Clemency, and Veterans Discharge Upgrade projects.
