Patterson Belknap Launches Season Three of Podcast Honoring the Legal Legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP announced today the launch of Season Three of “Notorious: The Legal Legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” a podcast that explores the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s cases, decisions, dissents, and her substantial overall impact on the rule of law in the United States.
Justice Ginsburg was a force in American jurisprudence. Her decisions and dissents offered a thoughtful and rigorous legal analysis, and demonstrated her steadfast commitment to gender and racial equality, and equal justice for all. One year after the passing of Justice Ginsburg, Patterson Belknap is proud to honor her memory and present a third season of this podcast, sponsored by Women Lawyers at Patterson. Hosted by Patterson Belknap Partner Michelle M. Bufano, Season Three of “Notorious” will cover opinions authored by Justice Thurgood Marshall and discuss the ways in which his jurisprudence impacted Justice Ginsburg’s judicial philosophy. This season will examine Justice Ginsburg and Justice Marshall’s legal legacies and how they relate to one another.
Episode one of Season Three will cover Justice Marshall and Justice Ginsburg’s contributions to the Civil Rights Movement, and parallels and differences between their legal and judicial strategies. This season’s guests will include Judge Joseph A. Greenway Jr., who currently sits on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and previously sat on the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; Gregory L. Diskant, Patterson Belknap Of Counsel and former judicial clerk to Justice Marshall, as well as other Patterson Belknap attorneys and guests.
“Following the success and interest in the first two seasons, Women Lawyers at Patterson wanted to continue this tribute to Justice Ginsburg and now, Justice Marshall’s, historic contributions to the rule of law and our profession,” said Lisa E. Cleary, the Firm’s Co-Chair and Managing Partner. “Justice Ginsburg and Justice Marshall exemplified the highest ideals of the legal profession, and we are proud to honor their legacy in Season Three of Notorious.” Women Lawyers at Patterson has served as a resource group for women at the Firm since 2006, providing a forum to address matters of professional development, internal and external networking, and other issues that might resonate particularly with women lawyers.
