January 2, 2019

Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP is pleased to announce that 2018 marked the fifteenth consecutive year the Firm achieved 100% attorney participation in pro bono matters. Our attorneys' work has earned recognition from Legal Aid Society, New York County Lawyers’ Association, Mobilization for Justice, the City Bar Justice Center, the American Bar Association, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, and many other providers of free legal services to low income New Yorkers. The Firm is also consistently ranked near the top of The American Lawyer’s annual pro bono survey.

Over the past year, we worked on a broad range of law reform and individual cases in the areas of, among others, criminal justice and prisoners’ rights, veterans’ rights, voters’ rights, death penalty, human rights, access to housing and homelessness, disability rights, foster care reform, and civil rights. Our attorneys work with individual clients on a daily basis to resolve legal issues relating to their ability to secure employment or housing. Our legal advocacy makes a significant difference in our clients’ lives and often influences legislators to address problems that affect thousands of similarly situated individuals in New York City and beyond.
