Firm Represents Mexican State Bank in Landmark Cross-Border Transaction
In the recent funding of a $400 million facility for the construction of a new international terminal for Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport, the firm represented the Mexican state development bank Nacional Financiera S.N.C. ("Nafin"), which in turn acted on behalf of the Mexico City airport authority, Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México ("AICM"). The transaction has been described in the industry as one of the most important and innovative cross-border financings in Latin America for 2005. Karen M. McCarthy, working with Scott Horton and David W. Dykhouse, managed our firm but patient negotiating team, with solid backing from Jean-Claude Lanza, expert swaps advice from L. Alexander Lewis, and tax support from Henry P. Bubel, Richard R. Upton and Carl A. Merino. Herman H. Raspé helped on ’40 Act issues. Firm alumna Leticia Solórzano worked on Nafin’s in-house team.
