Firm Secures Federal Circuit Affirmance for Microsoft

The firm secured a significant victory for Microsoft Corporation when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed a district court decision in a multi-patent case relating to Microsoft’s Skype communications platform. In 2013, Secure Web Conference Corp. accused Microsoft of infringing multiple patents relating to audio/video conferencing and encryption. In 2014, the firm won final judgment of non-infringement in favor of Microsoft in the Eastern District of New York. The decision was appealed to the Federal Circuit and, on February 17, 2016, the final judgment of non-infringement was affirmed resulting in a complete victory for our client.
