Firm Wins New York Court of Appeals Decision for Financial Guarantor

The Firm won a decision at the New York Court of Appeals after litigation partner Stephen P. Younger argued on behalf of our client, a financial guarantor, regarding the scope of the common-interest exception to waiver of the attorney-client privilege. On June 9, 2016, the Court ruled that the common-interest doctrine could not be extended to attorney-client communications that are shared with a third party in the absence of pending or anticipated litigation.
