Karen Berry’s Help with Death Certificates Post 9/11 Reported in City Bar Fund’s Annual Report

October 1, 2002

IP Associate Karen Berry was portrayed in the City Bar Fund's 2001 Annual Report as one of the attorneys who helped families of victims obtain death certificates. Karen and many others were working with families helping them find the evidence needed to establish a family member's presence at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In the tribute, Karen indicated she learned "from the other lawyers who were doing this work that people cared and were gentle with everyone . . . the important thing was to be empathetic to the person in front of you."
