NY Times Article Quotes Firm Attorney on Andersen-Enron Case
Steve Younger is quoted in a New York Times article today on the proposed $40 million settlement of Andersen Worldwide with Enron shareholders. Andersen Worldwide includes all non-US affiliates of Arthur Andersen. If approved by all parties, the settlement will absolve Andersen Worldwide of liability in the Enron-related claims. "It sounds like a great deal for Andersen," said Stephen P. Younger, a lawyer at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler in New York. "You do a settlement like this, it gives you immunity" against Enron-related claims, and frees Andersen Worldwide to focus on winding down.
