Peter Harvey to Serve on the National Football League’s Diversity Advisory Committee
On Monday, March 28, Partner Peter Harvey was selected as a member of the National Football League’s (“NFL”) Diversity Advisory Committee. The NFL established the committee to review league and club policies to address concerns over the lack of diversity in the hiring of head coaches and senior executives within the NFL’s teams. The new committee aims to help build a more inclusive league.
As a member of the committee, Peter Harvey will analyze diversity, equity and inclusion in the NFL's hiring process, with a "primary focus on senior-level coach and front office personnel positions." Upon completion of this independent evaluation, the committee will provide comprehensive recommendations to the League office and club ownership for consideration.
Mr. Harvey is joined by Patricia Brown Holmes, managing partner of Holmes & Cancila LLP, former Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith, ex-McDonald's CEO Don Thompson, University of Colorado Boulder business professor Stefanie K. Johnson, and Pamela Carlton, the founder and president of diversity-focused leadership consulting firm Springboard.
