Two Lawyers Promoted to Partner and Counsel

Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP announces the promotions of one associate attorney to partner and one to counsel. Karla G. Sanchez will join the partnership effective January 1, 2004. Ms. Sanchez practices in the firm's litigation department. She served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Deborah A. Batts, Southern District of New York, upon her 1995 graduation, cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. She holds an A.B. from Columbia University. Ms. Sanchez came to the firm in 1997. Karen M. McCarthy, who practices international and corporate law, will be Counsel as of January 1. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center where she was the Writing Program Editor for Law and Policy in International Business. Her magna cum laude undergraduate degree is from Syracuse University. She came to the firm in 1998.
