EEOC Releases New Regulations for the Americans with Disabilities Act
April 7, 2011On March 25, 2011, the EEOC issued its long-awaited regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 ("ADAAA"). Like the ADAAA, the regulations focus on making it significantly easier for an individual to qualify for the protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"). The content of the regulations, and of the revamped Interpretative Guidance published at the same time, largely track that of the ADAAA. The regulations will become effective on May 24, 2011.
