Biography

Christopher C. Angell is a senior member of the Firm’s Trusts and Estates department. He was a partner of the Firm from 1977 to 2010. Mr. Angell specializes in estate planning, administration of trusts and estates, planning for charitable giving and philanthropy, and organization and representation of family foundations and other tax-exempt organizations. He represents high net worth individuals and families, including owners of private businesses. He serves as a trustee of various trusts established by clients and their families and as a director or trustee of their charitable foundations.

During his career, Mr. Angell served as a director of Bessemer Trust Company and its affiliated trust companies, and as a Trustee of Johns Hopkins University, where he currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Bioethics Institute and the Board of Governors of the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research.

Mr. Angell is a trustee of the Rx Foundation and is President of The Emily Davie and Joseph S. Kornfeld Foundation, both of which have programs in the field of health care policy. The Kornfeld Foundation also supports medical research, bioethics and public education. Under his leadership, the Kornfeld Foundation initiated and provided funding for the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins and the National Palliative Care Research Center at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.
