On October 30, Partner Alejandro Cruz will speak at a Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act outreach event hosted by Seton Hall Law School, the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Cruz will speak on a panel titled "RLUIPA: Protecting Religious Land Use For Over 20 Years," which will explore how religious communities have used RLUIPA to protect themselves from discriminatory "municipal zoning laws and land use boards that unjustly block their efforts to develop houses of worship, religious schools, cemeteries, and other religious land uses."
