Mr. Kurland will speak on a panel titled "Third-Party Litigation Financing Under the Microscope: Managing Risk and Reclaiming Control Amid Rapid Expansion and Limited Transparency." Mr. Kurland will join John H. Beisner (Of Counsel, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP) and Zane Riester (Senior Counsel, Johnson & Johnson) to discuss the changing dynamics of third-party litigation funding, including the proliferation of foreign-backed funders in drug and device multi-district litigations and recent state and federal efforts to expand transparency surrounding litigation funding.

Ms. Sherman will present an Ethics Lab titled "Putting Your Judgment to the Test in Drug & Device Litigation." In this interactive lab, Ms. Sherman will use real-world scenarios to teach attendees how seasoned litigators would navigate ethical gray areas of the law.
