Ted Smoot is Co-Chair of the firm's Corporate department. He represents public and private companies, family offices and individuals in mergers, acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, and commercial agreements. His practice includes all aspects of the formation, operation, financing, disposition and acquisition of businesses, and general day-to-day corporate representation.
As a member of the firm’s Founders & Entrepreneurs practice group, he advises individual clients on a variety of corporate matters, including employment arrangements, option and restricted stock grants, secondary stock transfers, personal investments and advice in connection with financings, exit transactions, and other significant corporate events that affect founders' and executives' personal interests and control.
Mr. Smoot is also a member of the firm’s Structured Finance Litigation Practice group, which represents financial guaranty insurers and institutional investors in workouts, restructurings and litigation involving residential mortgage-backed securities transactions.
