Josie Dikkers is an Associate in the firm's Litigation Department. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Dikkers served as a law clerk to the Hon. Colleen McMahon of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Dikkers was previously an associate at a New York-based international law firm.

Advertising Litigation and Unfair Competition

  • Representing Fortune 500 company in multijurisdictional litigations concerning the environmental impact of its operations.
  • Advising personal care products company regarding labeling and advertising strategies.
  • Represented in California court multinational beverage company in litigation concerning product advertising and labeling.

Investigations

  • Conducting internal audit on behalf of a professional sports league of teams' salary cap compliance.
  • Conducted internal investigation on behalf of a professional sports league of allegations that players gambled on league games and “fixed” games.
  • Represented court-appointed Examiner in chapter 11 cases of FTX Trading Ltd.; assisted in investigation of several critical issues and contributed to the preparation of multiple comprehensive public reports.
  • Conducted independent investigation for Board of Fortune 500 company into allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment involving senior executives.

Complex Commercial Litigation

  • Represented company against claims brought under the Defend Trade Secrets Act; successfully defended against motion for preliminary injunction and TRO.
  • Represented a global pharmaceutical company in a dispute concerning alleged breaches of interest purchase agreements.

Pro Bono

  • Representing an asylum applicant fleeing Uganda due to persecution based on sexual orientation.
  • Represented an individual who was denied Social Security Disability benefits in appeal to federal district court and secured remand to the agency.
  • Represented an individual who was denied New York City’s paratransit services in appeal to the MTA and secured program services.
  • Won compassionate release for an incarcerated client subject to “stacked” 18 U.S.C. § 924(c) mandatory minimum sentences.*
  • Assisted female Afghan university student in her successful asylum application.*
